Clara Bentz began working with TheaterWorks in 2017 as the McMillin Fellow. Since then she has worn many hats as House Manager, Patron Services, SummerWorks Intern, Education Assistant, Actor, Maker of Bad Jokes, and occasional set painter and props helper. Kaitlyn is thrilled and honored to be making her TheaterWorks debut as one of the White Rabbits. She earned her BA in Theatre and Drama with Grand Canyon University where she focused on acting, directing, and stage management. She’d like to thank her family, friends, and fiancé for the constant support and love. Brandon is thrilled to be joining the Curiouser & Curiouser family this time around! He just recently graduated from Grand Canyon University with a degree in Theatre and Drama. Brandon has performed all over the valley in various productions, but some of his favorites include Crutchie in Newsies (PTC), Sondheim on Sondheim (PTC), Gideon in Seven Brides from or Seven Brothers (HCT), and Baby John in West Side Story (HCT). Paul Pedersen
(March Hare)

Paul is so excited to be returning for "Curiouser & Curiouser Too", as both the Choreographer and the March Hare. His love of theatre and dance started at a very young age and has continued to grow ever since. As a performer, Paul has been fortunate to appear on many valley stages. Some of his favorite roles include Craig in "The Normal Heart" (Stray Cat), Paul in "Company" (DFT), Bob Cratchit in "A Christmas Carol" (TheaterWorks), and Sir Lancelot in "Spamalot" (FHT) for which he received an ariZoni nomination for Actor in a Major Role. His work as a Choreographer has also appeared in productions such as "All Shook Up" (DFT), "The Full Monty" (MET), "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" both at TheaterWorks and both earning ariZoni award wins for Choreography. Finally, Paul would like to thank Chris, Cate, the entire cast, and crew of this production for stepping outside of the box and literally creating a Wonderland for artists and audience members to escape reality by stepping into a world of creativity, play, and inspiration. Christina is excited to be joining the cast of Curiouser and Curiouser Too! After performing in A Curiouser Nutcracker, she couldn’t wait to get started on this production. She is also a Southwest Shakespeare Core Company member, where some past credits include Macbeth, Richard II, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and although she was thankful to be doing virtual plays on Zoom, she is stoked to be doing live theatre once again!

Corielle is honored to be part of this unique theater experience. Her previous TheaterWorks roles have included Humpty Dumpty puppeteer in Curiouser & Curiouser and also A Curiouser Nutcracker, Miss Gulch/Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, Rose/the Charwoman in A Christmas Carol, and puppeteer in Secrets of the Rainforest.

Bill Dyer (Tweedle Dee)

Bill is excited and super grateful to be performing with TheaterWorks for the first time ever! He is the Director and a writer/performer at The SIC Sense Sketch Comedy Troupe – celebrating 12 years this year with NO SHOWS (thanks, 2020) – and is the Music Director for Constellation Cabaret (also temporarily on hold, see: 2020). Shelly R. Trujillo is thrilled to return to Wonderland as Tweedle Dee. She spent the last 2 years in Milwaukee, WI (yes, it’s cold there). While in MKE, she was fortunate to be a founding member of Harmondo!, a Musical Improv house team with Ampersand Theatre. Locally, she served as the Artistic Director of Constellation Cabaret, and has also been seen on the stages of Stray Cat Theatre, Mesa Encore Theatre, and The Sic Sense Sketch Comedy Troupe. Most recently, she had the honor of directing Body Politics with Space 55 Theater. Some of her favorite roles include: Lady Rowena (Once Upon a Mattress – TheaterWorks), and Eulalie Shinn (Music Man – Mesa Encore Theatre). Penny, this one is for you.

He is a 3-time ariZoni nominee, a partner at local film collective Synthetic Human Pictures, and the Artistic Director of Space 55.

Chris Hamby (Director)

Chris Hamby (Artistic Director) is an award-winning director and was formerly the Education Director for Theater Works. Chris has worked with many valley theater companies throughout the years including North Valley Playhouse, Greasepaint, and East Valley Children’s Theatre. He also was a teaching artist for Phoenix Theatre for 10 years where his residencies included work with the Kennilworth Elementary School, the Girl Scouts of America and a as a full time teacher for the Franklin Arts Academy. In 1999 he co-founded the Vagabond Youth Theatre and received permission to adapt Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are into a stage musical for the company. In 2003 he served as an education intern with the world famous, Seattle Children’s Theatre. Most recently Chris has directed A Christmas Carol, Frankenstein, Once Upon A Mattress, Twilight’s Quest, Charlotte’s Web, and The Secret Garden. He has also directed Avenue Q: School Edition and Hairspray at Desert Foothills Theater and The Full Monty at Mesa Encore Theatre. In 2015, Chris participated in the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s ANIMOTION: Puppetry Intensive Training Program in addition to completing the American Express Leadership Academy’s Nonprofit Leadership Management program. He was recently honored with an outstanding service award by the Arizona Thespians for his work for high school theatre students. Chris has over 30 ariZoni nominations for his theatre work and has received ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence for Directing for; Twilight’s Quest (2006), A Tale From the North Woods (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2011),Little Shop of Horrors (2012), The Velveteen Rabbit (2012), Avenue Q: School Edition (2013), The Secret Garden (2015). Additional ariZoni awards include Best Original Script, Twilight’s Quest (2006), Hair & Make-up Design Twilight’s Quest (2006), and Sound Design for The Hunchback of Notre Dame (2011). He also received an ANNIE Award from Desert Foothills Theatre for Directing Hairspray(2015). Chris was recently presented with the Governor's Arts Award in the Artist category. “Thank you for supporting TheaterWorks and the Performing Arts.”

Ashley Gennaro (Production Stage Manager)

Ashley Gennaro is a graduate of Grand Canyon University with a BA in Theatre and Drama and a personal focus in Stage Management. She is honored to be working with TheaterWorks as both a Stage Manager and as the Event Coordinator. Her TheaterWorks credits include Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Marvelous Wonderettes, The Wizard of Oz, The Crucible, and Anything Goes. She also was the Production Stage Manager and part of the devising team for the original Curiouser & Curiouser and A Curiouser Nutcracker. Ashley is thankful for the opportunity to work this unique project, creating (and organizing/scheduling every moment) alongside some of her favorite actors and production members. She would like to thank her family, her friends, and her mentors for all of their support, as well as God for guiding every step she takes. Courtney Stevens (Stage Manager)

Courtney Stevens (Stage Manager) is a graduate of the Stage Management program at the UofA (2015) and recipient of the 2017-18 Excellence in Stage Management AriZoni Award. Courtney has stage managed over 25 productions at Theater Works; favorite credits include The Secret Garden, Les Miserables: School Edition, A Chorus Line, Joseph...Dreamcoat, A Christmas Carol (2017, 2018, 2019), A Funny Thing Happened..., Beauty and the Beast, and Spamalot. She would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support of her following her passion.

Andrea Small
(Stage Manager)

Andrea Small is a librarian by day and a stage manager by night. Favorite credits include Man of La Mancha and Follies (Theater Works), Das Rheingold (Arizona Opera), Festival of American New Theatre (The Phoenix Theatre Company), and The Wild Party (A/C Theatre Company). Andrea earned her B.A. in Media Arts and English from the University of Arizona, and her MLIS from San José State University. She loves all aspects of theatre and working in production.

Kyle Olson
(Playwright)

Kyle Olson is taking his third trip to Wonderland, having collaborated with the cast and crew on the script for the first Curiouser & Curiouser, written the script for A Curiouser Nutcracker, and now had the pleasure of unleashing the madness in Curiouser & Curiouser Too. He has previously worked with TheaterWorks on their adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, for which he won an ariZoni award for his original script. He is the creator of The Swashbuckling Ladies Debate Society podcast, which is available for free online. He still has a lot to learn.

Ken Goodenberger (Music Director)

Ken Goodenberger was most recently the musical director of Winnie the Pooh at TW. He has won and been nominated for numerous ariZonis and NYAs for his previous shows: including The Secret Garden, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Cabaret, Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast and many more. Ken is the MD of the Theater Works Kids Alive! troupe, the Director of Music at SHUMC, and the Artistic Director of West Valley Chorale and Showcase Concerts. He is also well known as a singer and an actor in both Musical Theatre and Opera circles. He maintains a private voice studio and lives in Glendale with wife Brenda and their large family: “The Plethora”.

Elizabeth Peterson (Costume Designer)

Elizabeth Peterson is an award-winning theater artist who seamlessly navigates between professional designer, teaching artist, and performer. She is a versatile costume designer who works not only for stage theater, but also immersive theater, dance, and film. As a performer herself, Elizabeth's work in costume design focuses primarily on the actor. She believes that costumes are an extension of character and a means for communication of ideas and emotion. For Elizabeth, it is crucial that the actor feel powerful and comfortable when enveloped in the design. Many of her designs are inspired by sustainability, and whenever possible she creates her costumes from vintage and previously utilized textiles. Elizabeth enjoys creating interactive and transformative costumes that can become a performance in themselves. Her designs have graced numerous venues including the Historic Balboa Theatre in San Diego, the Ice House in Downtown Phoenix, and recently can be remembered at Theater Works in the production of The Wizard of Oz where her costumes became a quick audience favorite. Elizabeth studied both design and performance at Arizona State University, where she received a BFA in theater as well as a minor in Design. She began work toward a graduate level degree in Arts Entrepreneurship and looks forward to ultimately completing her MFA. As a teaching artist, Elizabeth has worked as the director of theater arts at multiple schools and previously as the resident costume designer for Scottsdale Community College. Currently, Elizabeth works as the performing arts instructor at Saint Jerome's School in Phoenix. Elizabeth considers Theater Works to be her home away from home and she is thrilled to be collaborating on such a unique and innovative immersive theater experience as Curiouser & Curiouser.

Terre Steed (Hair and Makeup Designer)

While this is his FIRST gig with Theatreworks, Terre has been a make up and hair designer, as well as an actor and music director in the Phoenix theater community for the last 20+ years. He has worked for companies such as the Phoenix Theater Company, Nearly Naked Theatre, Stray Cat Theater, Southwest Shakespeare Theatre, and Actors Theater. Credits include: Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Rocky Horror Show, RENT, Americano, Little Shop of Horrors, Cookin’s a Drag, Les Liaisons Dangereuses. DeAndrea Vaughn (Mask Designer)

DeAndrea Vaughn is a Zoni Award winning make up artist that has been working with Theater Works for 6 years. She is a self taught artist whose talents include theater make up, mold making, mask making, and sculpture. She has also lent her talents to movie sets, music videos, fashion shoots, and runway shows. Although she likes to work behind the scenes, her hard work and attention to detail are present on each actor she works with, allowing every character to come to life on stage.

Jeff A. Davis
(Lighting Designer)

Jeff A. Davis has been active in the live entertainment industry for 13 years designing lighting and programming shows all over the world, including the World Fair in Yeosu, Korea. Some local companies include: Hale Centre Theatre, Studio 3 Performing Arts, Nearly Naked Theatre, Stray Cat Theatre, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Black Theatre Troupe, and Celebrity Dance Competitions. Additionally he has worked on the national touring productions of Footloose (2008-09), The Wedding Singer (2009-10), All Shook Up (2010-11), and BLaST! (2011-2012) where he served as Head Electrician and Moving Light Programmer. Jeff is represented by DAVIS, an Arizona Design & Consultation company founded by Jeff himself. www.davis-e.com.

Bobby Sample
(Media Designer)

Bobby Sample has contributed direction, writing, poster art, and a variety of stagecraft and design to various theatres in the Valley since 2007, garnering 17 ariZoni Awards of Theatre Excellence and eight National Youth Arts Awards. His most recent designs at Theater Works have included projections and animations for A Christmas Carol last season, and for the previous two Curiouser productions. Last fall, he wrote and co-directed The Soul of Frankenstein at Spotlight Youth Theatre, where he has designed sets and media FX for the other seven shows this season, designs and maintains the theatre web site, and serves on the board of directors. He thanks Chris and all of the great design team at Theater Works for letting him in on this brilliant show concept.

Jenny Abeyta
(Property Designer)

Jenny Abeyta is a studio artist who received her BA in Fine Arts from NMSU, where she specialized in installation art and sculpture. She has put those skills to use at TheaterWorks as a property designer since 2012. Some of her favorite shows include, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Spamalot, and James and the Giant Peach. She is very excited and thankful to be part of the design team for Curiouser and Curiouser, where she can lose herself in the world of installation art for an expansive project that crawls into every corner of the theater. She couldn’t ask for a better team of amazing people to work with! She would like to give a special thanks to her father, Mike Abeyta, for providing his own artistic expertise along the way. Thanks, Dad, and sorry about the small fires I started in the laser cutter.

Andrea Detwiler
(Puppet Designer)

Andrea is happy to be working with Theaterworks. She has been a puppet builder and puppet technician for over 25 years. She has spent most of her career working for the Jim Henson Company. She has worked on a variety of TV shows including Sesame Street, The Muppets, Bear in the Big Blue House, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and Helpsters. Her film credits include The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, and The Happytime Murders. She has worked on theater productions including Broadway’s Avenue Q and has toured with Walking With Dinosaurs and How to Train Your Dragon (The Arena Spectacular). She is a four time recipient of the NATAS Daytime Emmy for Costume Design and Styling on a Daytime Series for her work on Sesame Street.

Digger Feeney
(Scenic Designer/ Technical Director)

Heather received her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and taught Production in Theater at DeSales University for eleven years. She was an Assistant Technical Director at the Utah Shakespearean Festival at the Adams Theater and the lead welder and rigger for eight years at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival for their musicals. She moved to Arizona two years ago from Pennsylvania with her family and has greatly enjoyed the sunshine! She is eternally grateful for her family's support during this enormous undertaking, and especially wishes to thank Bill and Greyson for their unfaltering patience and encouragement.

Stephen Christensen
(Sound Designer)

Stephen Christensen is a sound designer and engineer, focused on the rigorous investigation of sound design and emerging technologies in contemporary performance. To learn more about his work, please visit www.StephenChristensen.xyz In Phoenix, he has designed with Childsplay, TheaterWorks, Orange Theater, St. Bird Labs, Great Arizona Puppet Theater, Arizona State University, and others. He has also produced work at the North American Cultural Laboratory (NACL) and HERE Arts Center summer residency on Governor’s Island in New York. He founded Orange Theatre with Matthew Watkins in 2010 and served as its technical director and resident sound designer until 2018. His work with the company includes hair and fingernails, , YOU YOU SHOULDN’T COME BACK, Blood Wedding, ELEKTRANOSTOP, Ida, and Herakles. Orange’s productions have been included in The Phoenix New Times’ “10 Best Plays”, and the company won a Phoenix New Times “Big Brain” award, as well as two Arizona Commission of the Arts: Arizona Art Tank awards. Stephen and other former members of Orange Theatre are currently in the process of co-creating an original piece with New York-based experimental music collective thingNY. Most recently, he produced, sound designed, and mixed the podcast Mission: Interplanetary in partnership with SLATE. Check it out wherever you get podcasts. He is currently working as the Sound and Media Supervisor for the School of Music, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University, where he also mentors aspiring sound designers and systems engineers. Shane Waltz

Shane Waltz is currently almost a senior at Horizon High School and is studying Theatre Production and Advanced Drama. He has a primary focus on Lighting Design and Stage Management. His previous TheaterWorks credits include the previous installments of Curiouser & Curiouser, A Christmas Carol, and Charlotte's Web. Two of his note-worthy school credits include Cash on Delivery!, and Broadway Under the Stars 2021. Shane is thrilled to be chosen to work on Curiouser & Curiouser Too again. He would like to thank his family, friends, teachers, and fellow Curiouser crew for motivating him and inspiring him to do what he loves to do.

Currently working as Master Electrician for the Arizona Opera. Has also worked as a lighting tech and master electrician for Herberger Theater Center, Theater Works, Phoenix Theater, Gammage, Childsplay, Arizona Theater Company, Davis Entertainment, Ballet Arizona, Arizona Ballet Academy, and Arizona Broadway Theater. Dori Brown is honored to be working with TheaterWorks as scenic artist on Curiouser & Curiouser. As a designer and artist, she truly believes in the power of collaboration and was excited to get to opportunity to work with such great artisans in the creation of this unique production. Her recent work includes designing scenery and scenic artist for James & the Giant Peach, Charlotte’s Web, Christmas Carol, and Beauty and the Beast and along with scenic design only for Little Prince and Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde with Theater Works; designing scenery and scenic artist for Edward Tulane, Tuck Everlasting and Freaky FridaySuessical the Musical Jr and Frozen Jr. with EVCT. Phil Wilson is an award winning filmmaker and founding Faculty member of Huntington University’s Arizona Center for Digital Media Arts (which is now entering its 5th year). He is proud to have produced the Arizoni-nominated video elements for the TheaterWorks productions of “20K Leagues Under the Sea” and “Sunday in the Park with George.” He would like to thank Chris and Cate for their trust, and for putting this highly creative and inventive show together.
